He is Risen!

He is risen indeed!

Today was the first day of our new church plant, Old Paths Baptist Church. We have been so busy the last 10 days or so, I haven't had time for blogging. I will give a brief run-down of the last few weeks or so.

  • Received 5,100 John & Romans booklets from Bearing Precious Seed (while wondering how on earth will we get all these out?!).
  • Designed a flyer inviting people to our first church service, but didn't have the funds to get them printed quite yet.
  • Our sending church, Bible Baptist Church, took a love offering for the amount we needed to print 4,000 flyers!
  • We had several people come and help stuff the booklets with the flyers. All 17 boxes of them!
  • Up until last week, we taught the teen Sunday School class at our church. 2 teen boys came to us last week and let us know they are on spring break and they would be there to help pass out booklets/go door knocking ALL WEEK LONG. They actually stayed at our house the whole week. We had another young man from church stay with us several nights to participate with us. Jason had a schedule for the group...it seemed like youth camp at our house, it was a blast! 2 of these young men are called to preach and Jason gave them opportunities to give a message. It is tremendous seeing the Lord work in these lives!
  • There were about 30+ people helping in various aspects this week, from door-knocking, passing out booklets, cooking for the clan, cleaning up, stuffing booklets, working on neighborhood maps, etc.... a HUGE blessing!
  • As of last evening, we had about 25 booklets left. Which means, in 10 days, we passed out over 5,000 John/Romans booklets to the four immediate neighborhoods!!!
  • We had some great response at the doors. We have over 50 contacts now.
  • Our first service was this morning and we had 28 in attendance. 3 families we directly from our booklets/flyers. It is a great start!
  • We are continuing to pray for a more permanent location. We are currently meeting in an enclosed shelterhouse in a city park. It is okay for now, but we are only able to use it Sunday mornings at this time. We will need a place for Sunday evening & mid-week services.
  • The Lord is so good to us. Praise the Lord!

How exciting to read what the Lord has already done! Rejoicing with you over the great number of folks in attendance on your first Sunday. :)
