Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:16
I have been re-prioritizing my time on my bloggy break. For some reason, we got all out of whack when we took our scheduled week off of school. I had such big plans, but sadly, many of my projects did not get done. Oh well, maybe next time.
I do have to say that I have drawn closer to the Lord in the last week. Amen to that :o) God is just so good all the time. He is so faithful, even when I am not. Every single day, we have a new chance to make things right. His mercies are new each day.
I am going to make a new schedule this week, hoping to revitalize myself and the children. I need to use my time more wisely. I need to redeem the time. The days are definitely evil. I want my time to count for something.
The Lord has recently convicted me of not being ready to speak to someone about the Lord and salvation. Don't get me wrong, I do try to be one who encourages and exhorts. I have gotten lax in carrying tracts with me, although I do have a small Bible that I carry in my purse. I have been praying that the Lord will use me and to give me an opportunity to speak to someone about their eternal life.
That opportunity came today. I went to CVS to get some deals ;o) and when I came out, there was a lady there who approached me. She needed money, said her husband lost his job. I live in an area of town where this is not uncommon. I almost never have cash, I use my debit card for everything, and even if I do, I usually say no. Most of the time (around here anyways) people ask for money to get alcohol or cigarettes.
I just "happened" to have $4 in my pocket and I gave it to her. As I was walking away, the Lord was saying "Hello?? Didn't you ask for an opportunity to witness to someone? Here it is!" Anyway, she called out to me. She noticed one of the Scripture signs on our Station Wagon and said she liked it. So I walked back over and started talking to her. I asked her if she died tonight, did she know for sure if she would go to heaven. And this began a conversation about the Lord. I explained to her that the Bible says that she can know for sure. I am NOT a bold person by any means, but we did have a good talk. I am eager now to talk to someone else :o)
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Let's pray for opportunities like we never have before! We don't know how much time we have left before the Lord comes back. Let's redeem the time.

Thank you for reminding us to be on the alert for opportunities to witness. :)
this was a very good reminder for me that I need to be open to opportunities all the time...because we never know when the chance will open up to be a witness to someone...
thank you for this post...
Great job listening to the Lord and being a bold witness!
