Hurricane Ike...in the midwest?

I live in the Midwest. Not exactly hurricane country. Well, yesterday we got the remnants of Ike. WHEW! They say that the winds topped out at 75 MPH! We had some property damage; we have had a covered patio in the back, but the aluminum cover is now laying diagonal from the house. We can't open our back door all the way. We are also without power and are being told that it could be up to a week before restoration. I am at my mom's right now because she has power. I will post pictures later, when our power is restored.

We could grumble and complain (and I confess, I did a little of that when I woke up this morning and still no power), but, at least we still have a home, we still have running water, we still have HOT water, a gas stove top and we are all safe. I have a sister that lives in Houston, Texas and I also have family in Galveston, Texas: they are not sure yet if the have a home to go to. We really don't have it so bad. We just lost some inconveniences, not our entire homes.

Praise God anyhow! He is still on His throne.

Thanks so much for the info Mrs C! It must be Firefox. I use IE and it looks normal but when you said that, I tried it on firefox and was shocked! Blessings to you Mrs C.
